Kate Gare
 
 
Kate bring more than 15 years experience in the areas of disability, health and wellbeing. In this time she has been a director at The Disability Partnership, account director at C&E Advisory (a social responsibility consultancy). She currently coaches and trains people with disabilities, mental health challenges and long-term health issues and is delivering a Big Lottery funded project for Rockinghorse Childrenís Charity and East Sussex County Council focusing on children and young people with disabilities and special needs.
This combination of strategic management and grassroots one to one support has resulted in Kate developing a deep understanding of issues preventing inclusion and a commitment to the strength-based approach focusing on what is possible rather than what isnít.
 
Examples of Kateís projects:
  • Leadership programme for disabled civil servants across 18 government departments
  • Mobility opportunities via Education (MOVE) for disabled children and adults to become more mobile
    Training in disability awareness training and communication for corporates
  • Training and coaching for people with disabilities, mental health challenges and long-term illness
  • Cause marketing campaign (Vodafone and National Autistic Society) 
  • Improving access to leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities and special needs in East Sussex. Includes consultation with  parents, carers, leisure providers and children and young people with disabilities.
